Brooklyn, New York: Kevin Peter Carroll, New York City Council candidate for the 43rd District and current State Committeeman for the 64th Assembly District, last night received the endorsement of Dilia Schack, Democratic State Committeewoman for the 46th Assembly District. This marks the first elected official to publicly endorse Carroll’s candidacy. In addition to announcing her support, Schack has joined the campaign as its honorary Co-Chair.
“I would like to see someone who has lived in the community, worked for the community, and understands the community in the City Council and Kevin meets all of those criteria,” said Dilia Schack. “He will be someone who, as a councilman, will bring a lot back to Southern Brooklyn because he has the energy, strength, and will to do what is right. I am more than willing to roll up my sleeves and do whatever I can to get him elected.”
“It means so much to have Dilia supporting my candidacy for the City Council,” said Kevin Peter Carroll. “Since Bay Ridge is split into multiple assembly districts, she and I have worked closely together as district leaders. The issues that are important to my share of the neighborhood are the same issues that are important to her share of the neighborhood. They also impact Dyker Heights, Bath Beach, and Bensonhurst. From the challenges associated with the opioid epidemic, to the need for more equitable funding of our public schools, to the need for more senior housing, I will continue to work with my fellow community leaders to advocate for all our constituents. That work continues tonight with making Dilia an integral part of my campaign.”
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Kevin Peter Carroll is a proud product of the public school system and was elected in 2010, at the age of 24, as a Democratic State Committeeman and District Leader for the 64th Assembly District. His first undertaking as an District Leader was advocating for equitable redistricting reform and, more recently, he has successfully fought to bring back the B37 bus, make our streets safer with greater police enforcement, and stood up for the community’s needs during the 4th Avenue redesign effort. Kevin has worked at the City Council for over 6 years and understands the ins and outs of city government. Kevin Peter Carroll now hopes to bring his experience and dedication to the entire 43rd District as its Council Member.
